APNEF EXECUTIVE BODY
To serve publications and media groups throughout Pakistan with a special emphasize to safeguard the interests of regional newspapers to bring them to the mainstream media so that they could play their vital role in strengthening democracy and become voice of masses.
APNEF is a non profit organization to be the indispensable partner of newspapers and the entire news publishing industry worldwide, particularly our members, in the defense and promotion of press freedom, quality journalism and editorial integrity and the development of prosperous businesses and technology. Today, the primary role of the APNEF is to represent the needs of its members and the public.

APNEF is planning to launch a School of Journalism to cater the needs of professional journalists along with creating awareness among media consumers regarding the best possible utilization of mass media.

APNEF School of Journalism will offer courses in area like Media Ethics, The Role of Social Media and Limitations of Media in an Age of Information Technology.

APNEF to Bridge the Gap between Government, Regional Newspapers & Rural Population

Various welfare projects of the government often remain unnoticed by the rural populations and so they could not reap the benefits from such welfare projects of the government. Following are some reasons that the message of government does not reach far-flung areas:
•  Government ads are not released to the regional media
•  News of important Government programs does not reach the local and regional media.
APNEF has the network of its member newspapers throughout the Pakistan which may be utilized to communicate all important government plans and welfare schemes.

APNEF MANIFESTO
News papers & magazines of Pakistan had intention for a long time that such a forum should have been established in which regional, small publishers of news papers, chief editors and editors could solve their problems freely.

Formation of such a pivotal / central organization which motto is to secure the interest of working leaders of the Chief Editors, Editors publishers of the news papers.

Public Affairs
As an advocate in public policy the APNEF enables newspapers from coast to coast to speak with a unified voice when promoting newspaper interests to governments, regulators and the general public. These interests include such issues as taxation, employment standards, recycling, freedom of information, privacy and copyright. In this capacity the APNEF monitors, analyzes and lobbies against legislation potentially harmful to newspapers and freedom of the press.

•  Protecting and promoting press freedom and ensuring economic independence of newspapers irrespective of their size and region.
•  Taking steps to modernize print and digital news publishing through provision of training and resources to deserving newspapers.
•  Providing a platform for discussion and exchange of ideas among the editors of urban and rural newspapers.
•  Monitoring and ensuring that all media groups follow ethical journalistic standards without biases and favoritism.
•  Formation of an effective Press Council to receive and redress complains against publications groups and to devise a mechanism of Media Self Regulation.

APNEF to Protect Democracy

Democracy in Pakistan has been revived almost after a suppression of eight years long dictatorial rule. Only after some year's completion of democratically elected government, anti democratic forces have started their campaigns by exploiting the media in order to beguile and mould public-opinion against the present regime. APNEF aims to promote and safeguard democracy in the country. In the present scenario of media cross ownership and the media agenda-setting techniques by critically evaluat ing media in terms of its impartiality, objectivity and responsibility.


Who can Join APNEF?
Publisher, Chief Editor, Editor, Executive Editor, Resident Editor, Group Editor & Joint Editor can be member of forum at a time.

Requirements for Membership
Applicant must be in publication:
...... ...... For at least 3 months in case of daily publication.
...... ...... For at least 6 months in case of a periodical publication.
